On September 23, 2015 the 1st meeting of CCM TB Clinical Research Coordination Group was convened at the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. The Group was established on the basis of the decision of 79thth CCM meeting of May 28, 2015. The main mission of the Group is to coordinate and support introduction of new treatment schemes in the country. The Group unites the representatives of the Healthcare Department of MoLHSA, State Agency for Regulation of Medical Activities, National Bioethics Committee, National Center for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, Georgian TB Physicians and Pulmonologists Association, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Former TB patient. The 1st meeting was dedicated at review of current and planned TB clinical trials. The work of Group is open and transparent. All interested parties can address the CCM Secretariat with the request for additional information at the following e-mail addresses: admin.ccm@caucasus.net and secretary@ccm.caucasus.net

 

On September 22, 2015 the Oversight Committee conducted the site visit to the Tanadgoma Office in Telavi, Kakheti. The purpose of the visit was to assess the current status of implementation of the Global Fund funded HIV Program

One National Authority – The Country Coordinating Mechanism against HIV Infection/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Diseases in Georgia (Georgia CCM)

Announcement of membership renewal

With the purpose of membership renewal Georgia CCM announces the call for NGOs active in HIV and TB fields, KAPs and people living or previously living with the disease to express their interest to work in Georgia CCM and present their candidacies for CCM membership.

The call concerns the following positions:

  • NGOs (either international or national) active in the area of HIV/AIDS -  3members
  • NGOs (either international or national) active in the area of  TB – 2 members
  • HIV KAP – 3 members
  • TB KAP – 1 member
  • People living with HIV/AIDS – 1member
  • People living with or previously living with TB – 1member

 

The applications will be received from October 20, 2015 to October 30, 2015 inclusively. The applications received after October 30 will not be considered.

On August 4, 2015, at the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health the CCM had a consultative meeting with the representatives of Civil Society Organizations active in TB field to discuss CCM renewal procedures.
