The World TB Day

The Deputy Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia Mariam Jashi together with the head of Health and Social Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament Dimitry Khundadze and the USAID Mission Director. Stephen Heykin opened the conference dedicated to the World TB Day. Today’s slogan was “Reach the three million”.
The conference was attended by the authorities of Georgian Parliament, Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, Ministry of Corrections, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and by the representatives of USAID Mission, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
At the conference participants discussed issues related to TB treatment and prevention in Georgia. Georgia joins global activities in creation of new diagnostic and treatment anti-TB mechanisms that will contribute to prevention, early detection and successful treatment of disease.
